I contributed to the atmosphere I experienced in church today

As I prepared for church today, I involved my mind and my heart in the quiet conversations of life. I wanted to to seat strategically next to people who didn't know me(that tells you I probably did not attend my local assembly), I wanted to let lose, I wanted to appear before the mercy seat and plead for my life, I wanted to be alone in a world only I knew about, I wanted to tell Him how much I had missed communion with Him, I wanted to let Him know what He meant to me, I just wanted to be the redeemed me!! I got to church 10 minutes into the service, found the worship leader into the first set of songs ( I guessed), but just when I had spotted the perfect seat, the Usher...oh the Usher!!, he gently pointed to a seat next to the aisle.. I adjusted and quickly refocused to what had now build up to a well of expectation!I wanted to take a journey to the Lord uninterrupted. Sitting there I closed my eyes, zoned out to what was happening and begun walking, I had an urgency ...

I really don't know what's going on in your life, so I am just going to let you be..

Recently, I have been looking at people reflectively and when I can't really comprehend what's going on in their life, I have found myself easily shrugging my shoulders " I really don't know what's going on in your life, neither do I know what you've been going through lately and so I am not going to play Jesus or the Holy Spirit to try and figure out why you're behaving the way you are..."  So just be.... You see there's a beauty in sometimes letting people go through the motions of life without really meddling, or trying to make it easy for them because truth is all of us have seasons that we must go through to grow, learn and stretch us ...most times these are the moments that bring out the best in us. Every experience counts, all situations count, making the most of out of them is what makes the difference. We can chose to worry, change nothing and waste time, or keep our peace, go through the motion, learn what's there to lear...

In stillness YOU remind me who YOU ARE!

****** When I am quiet You remind me who You are, When I am still You write it upon my heart with the mark of assurance that You are for me! ( Oh what beauty equates this? ) When I am still You remind me that You have searched me and known me, You have known my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off, You comprehend my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways (Psalms 139:1-3) When I am quiet and still You remind me that the path of life is clearer in your presence, you bid me to stay here and walk in the right path, because you love seeing me happy, You love glory from me :). (Psalms 16:11) So faithful, so constant,so loving and so true, So powerful in all do. You fill me, you see me,  You know my every move, and you love me to sing to you. So patient, so gracious, so merciful and true So wonderful in all you do, I know you are for me, I know that you are for me I know that you will ne...

We need a community....

A community is a social, religious, occupational, or other group sharing common characteristics or interests and perceived or perceiving itself as distinct in some respect from the  larger society within which it exists. For the last few weeks I have been reflecting on some interesting thoughts which I thought would help someone else reflect and learn as well... Spiritual muscles are often developed in the context of a community. People who remain connected with their brothers and sisters in the local church almost invariably grow in self-understanding, and they mature in their ability to relate in healthy ways to God and to their fellow Christians. This is especially the case for those who are courageous and stick it out through the often messy process of interpersonal discord and conflict resolution. People who stay grow, People who leave do not grow and if they grow, not much. We all might know people who are consumed with spiritual wanderlust, but you never get to know th...

Even in pain, He still is there....

There is strength within the sorrow, There is beauty in our tears You meet us in our mourning, With a love that casts out fear You are working in our waiting, Sanctifying us When beyond our understanding, You're teaching us to trust Your plans are still to prosper, You have not forgotten us You're with us in the fire and the flood Faithful forever, Perfect in love You are sovereign over us You are wisdom unimagined, Who could understand your ways Reigning high above the heavens, Reaching down in endless grace Youʼre the Lifter of the lowly, Compassionate and kind You surround and You uphold me, Your promises are my delight Even what the enemy means for evil You turn it for our good, You turn it for our good and for your glory Even in the valley You are faithful Youʼre working for our good, Youʼre working for our good and for your glory This is part of the story of a very close friend of mine... ....24 years ago when the mother( who was an Internationa...
